Originally from Trinidad and Tobago Gail has made her home in Toronto, Washington, DC and now Brussels. Gail began her ceramic training at the Corcoran School of Arts and Design (Washington, DC) and has taken intensive and master classes, in person and online, in Italy, the United States and Brussels.
Inspired by art, interior design and architecture her work focuses on the texture and materiality of clay, respecting the aesthetic value of both glazed and unglazed work. Her pieces might be thrown or hand-built and altered, perhaps both! The final glaze or other medium applications being a most considered step. Her current research and work focuses on glaze development and building large scale ceramic objects, furnishings and installations both challenging practices that push her limits!
